Tully takes a trip to a galaxy far, far away

Tully is a cute, semi-realistic girl with just a hint of classic Japanese anime. Tully for Shade is a fully rigged, easy to animate Made for Shade character. She comes equipt with preset facial expressions, poses and props so you can create artwork immediately. All costumes shown in the gallery are included with Tully.

Tully isn’t standing still either. Recently, Tully users received a free update with Tully Zero, a plain version of Tully set up to make it easier for you to create your own modifications and clothing for Tully.

Now, Mirye Software created a new version of Tully – SF Warrior Tully. SF Warrior Tully includes all new clothing, including leather boots, brown belted trousers and a warrior’s short robe. It also includes a laser sword prop and six new poses specifically designed for SF Warrior Tully?

How Much is SF Warrior Tully?

SF Warrior Tully is FREE for all Tully customers. If you previously purchased Tully from Mirye Software, all you need to do is redownload – you’ll notice the download is much bigger because it now contains Base Tully, Tully Zero and now SF Warrior Tully.

Find Out More About Tully

You can find out more about Tully for Shade on the Tully Page on Mirye Software.

Tully gets an additional version at no additional cost
After our release of Tully English for Shade, we heard back from our friends and customers about how they would like to use Tully. The result is Tully Zero, a free addition for purchasers of Tully English. Tully Zero is a lean, version of the Tully character with all preset clothing removed and the character pose completely zeroed.

The value in Tully Zero is for designing modifications and clothing that you make for your own use. It is much easier to build new clothing around Tully.

If you already purchased Tully English, simply redownload – Tully Zero is now a standard part of the download.

Those in the know, know that Shade 10 English is really Shade 10.5 and includes updates that were in the Japanese Shade 10 and Shade 10.5 releases. One of the newest features in Shade 10 English is MultiPass Rendering.

MultiPass Rendering is a way to render images into discreet layers, with each layer containing specific elements. For example, here is a render that incoporated global illumination components. The image below it captures only those elements associated with global illumination information.

That image looks kind of murky, doesn’t it? Well that’s okay.

So What is the Big Deal about MultiPass Rendering?

MultiPass Rendering doesn’t add anything new to your render, but it empowers you in so many ways to improve your renders. If you are a regular Adobe PhotoShop user, you already have some notion about what I am talking about. When it comes to MultiPass Rendering, its more important about what the layer leaves out rather than what it includes.

With MultiPass Rendering, you can go back and do some powerful things through post processing. One simple reason might be that you want to do a post processing trick of taking only the background of a scene and turn it into black and white, while leaving the subject of your composition in full color. You can assign an object to a layer with an Object ID, before rendering. This will place the object itself into a separate layer – allowing you to select all layers other than the object layer, and transforming it into grayscale with in simple step in Photoshop.

MultiPass Rendering can work with visual elements as well as actual objects in a scene. For example, having each discreet object rendered into its own layer (object), vs rendering all refraction information into a layer (parameter).

Do I Have to Use MultiPass Rendering?

Not at all – you can go ahead and render your image just like you are used to. The only downside of the old way is that, if you want to make a lot of changes to objects within your render, you’ll spend a lot more time in a product like PhotoShop.

New features in Mirye Software Shade 10: The Work Plane and Local Coordinates Editing Features

Not to duplicate too much but, the Shade 10 Supplemental Manual is taking shape over on Shadecamp.net. There is a draft of the Shade 10 Work Plane features detailed there. This is a short walk through of the new features in Shade 10 that cover two tightly associated features in Shade 10 – the new work plane system and also using local coordinates.

The work plane system in Shade 10 allows you to easily and quickly manipulate how the cursor moves in 3D space. This is very useful for ensuring that you are modeling against one particular plane and constraining movement in the 3D space. But you can already do something like that simply by using the view ports in the figure window – so what gives?

That’s why we are grouping the local coordinates features together with the work plane improvements. While it was possible to work with local coordinates before in Shade, it wasn’t very intuitive or easy to use. Shade 10 now allows you to name and save a local coordinates axis as an Axis object.

We weren’t able to find a complete Windows installer, but have come up with a complete Shade 7 directory for Windows which should make it easy to install. The Mac OS installer is a standard dmg file.

Since these files are very large – 400 MB – they are set up as store items in the Mirye Store at $0 and with a limited time download period.
